RED PILLARBOX HUMOROUS POST CARD IMAGES  1908  - 1930s.
Vintage comic postcard images  with the iconic red pillarbox as a central theme.
Amongst the above images is an interesting early female postal worker - politically incorrect !, & an image of a thief attempting to steal mail under the watchful gaze of a policeman.
The inexpensive picture postcard was very widely used throughout this era, typically needing just a Halfpenny stamp,


Although something of a deviation from the main 'Irish' theme of the site, this page is intended as a lighthearted, humorous lookback to & reminder of another era.
When many of these cards were on sale IRELAND'S  pillarboxes & postboxes were also Red.
